How to Apply for a Remote Work Visa in the UAE: A Step-by-Step Guide

DUBAI, July 30, 2025 – The UAE is becoming a top destination for remote workers, ranking second globally in 2025 according to the VisaGuide Digital Nomad Visa Index.

For those whose jobs allow remote work, the UAE offers a unique Remote Work Visa that enables individuals to live and work in Dubai for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

This visa is specifically designed for international remote workers employed by companies outside the UAE. Notably, applicants do not need a local sponsor and can sponsor dependents, including spouses and children.

To qualify for the Remote Work Visa, applicants must meet several criteria:

  • Employment by a non-UAE company for a minimum of one year.
  • A proven ability to work remotely.
  • A monthly salary of at least USD 3,500 (approximately AED 12,856).

Required documents include a valid passport, a colored passport photo, health insurance from a UAE provider, proof of remote employment, and a salary certificate. An optional police clearance certificate may also be submitted.

Applications can be made online through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) for all emirates except Dubai, or through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) for Dubai.

The total cost of the visa is AED 350, covering application, issuance, and service fees.
