Experts warn that reliance on AI tools can lead to poorly tailored resumes, which not only lack proper content but may also be ranked lower by recruitment platforms.

Jason Grundy, managing director of Robert Walters Middle East & Africa, noted that excessive use of AI is becoming more apparent, as recruiters can easily identify completely AI-generated content.

While AI applications like ChatGPT and Enhancv offer quick resume preparation, candidates are encouraged to proofread and edit their submissions to avoid factual errors that could lead to rejection.

The UAE’s job market is thriving, growing at 4%, making it the fastest-growing in the Gulf region. However, recruiters express frustration over the quality of applications, with 64% reporting an influx of AI-generated submissions that don’t fit the roles.

Despite these challenges, 83% of HR leaders support using AI for job searches, emphasizing the importance of honesty regarding experience.

The focus is shifting from detecting AI-generated content to ensuring candidates use these tools responsibly to highlight their genuine qualifications effectively.
