UAE Named Safest Country in the World in 2025 Mid-Year Review

The UAE has once again secured its position as the safest country globally, according to the latest ‘Safety Index by Country 2025 Mid-Year’ released by Numbeo, a crowd-sourced online database.

The nation achieved an impressive score of 85.2 points, placing it at the top of the safety rankings.

Following the UAE in the top five are Andorra, which ranked second with 84.8 points, Qatar in third with 84.6 points, and Taiwan and Macao rounding out the list.

This recognition highlights the UAE’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a high quality of life, safety, and security for its residents.

The UAE, known for its diverse population of over 200 nationalities, had previously ranked second on the safety index in March 2025, with Andorra leading at that time.

The current rankings further emphasize the UAE’s reputation as a secure environment for living and working.

In comparison, Saudi Arabia ranked 14th, followed by Bahrain at 15th, while Kuwait and Jordan placed 38th and 54th, respectively. The UK and the US ranked lower, at 86th and 91st, with scores of 51.6 and 50.8 points.

Additionally, Abu Dhabi and Dubai continue to be recognized as the top livable cities in the Middle East and Africa, having improved their scores in healthcare and education according to the Global Liveability Index.

Abu Dhabi was noted as one of the safest cities worldwide, achieving a score of 88.2 points on the Safety Index.

The UAE’s commitment to safety and security remains a priority, contributing to its status as a desirable destination for both residents and visitors alike.
