Under the initiative, employees will be divided into two groups. The first group will work eight hours from Monday to Thursday and enjoy a full day off on Friday.

The second group will work seven hours from Monday to Thursday and 4.5 hours on Friday.

This program is designed to enhance productivity and improve work-life balance, building on the success of a pilot program launched last year. The previous initiative reportedly resulted in increased employee satisfaction, with a 98% approval rating.

Additionally, the UAE has implemented a midday work ban from June 15 to protect workers from the harsh summer sun, prohibiting outdoor work from 12:30 PM to 3 PM. Companies found violating this ban face fines of up to Dh50,000.

With these measures, Dubai aims to create a more supportive working environment during the sweltering summer months.
