Saudi Arabia: No Refunds for Canceled Exit and Re-Entry Visas

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has clarified that fees paid for exit and re-entry visas are non-refundable, even if the visa is canceled.

This announcement comes as many expatriates prepare for summer travel and inquire about visa procedures.

Visa Cancellation Policy

• Non-Refundable Fees: Jawazat confirmed that if an exit and re-entry visa is canceled, the fees are not refundable.

Fee Structure

• Single Exit and Re-Entry Visa:
  • Cost: 200 Saudi riyals
  • Validity: Up to 2 months, with an additional SAR 100 for each extra month within the validity of the resident’s permit (iqama).
• Multiple Exit and Re-Entry Visa:
  • Cost: 500 riyals for up to 3 months, with 200 riyals for each additional month.
• Extension Fees (for residents already outside Saudi Arabia):
  • Single Visa Extension: 400 riyals (valid for 1 month).
  • Multiple Visa Extension: 800 riyals.

Managing Visa Processes

• The entire process for canceling or extending visas can be handled through the Absher digital platform.
• To cancel an exit and re-entry visa:
  • Log in to Absher.
  • Select “Services for Sponsors.”
  • Choose the relevant individual and confirm the cancellation request.

Extensions for Residents Outside the Kingdom

For residents needing to extend their visas while outside Saudi Arabia:

• Renewals can be processed online via the Absher platform.
• Residents can select “Worker Services” or “Family Member Services” to renew visas for themselves or those under their sponsorship.
• Employers can use the Absher Business platform to extend visas for professional workers outside the Kingdom under “My Business Services.”

This clarification aims to ensure that residents are informed about the fee policies related to exit and re-entry visas, helping to avoid misunderstandings as travel plans are made.
