UAE Residents to Enjoy Visa-Free Entry to Armenia Starting July 1

In a significant move to enhance regional travel, Armenia has announced that residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be granted visa-free entry starting July 1, 2025.
This new policy allows UAE residents to visit Armenia for tourism, leisure, or business purposes without the need for a visa, for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

Key Aspects of the New Policy
The visa exemption applies to all UAE residents holding valid residency permits that are at least six months valid from the date of entry.
This change marks a shift from previous regulations, which only permitted UAE nationals to travel to Armenia without a visa, while residents were required to obtain a visa on arrival.
The new policy also extends to passport holders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar. This expansion significantly broadens travel opportunities for the expatriate community in the GCC.

Strengthening Economic and Cultural Ties
The decision was finalized during a cabinet meeting in May, with the goal of strengthening economic relations and boosting tourism between Armenia and the Gulf nations.
Officials emphasized the increasing interest among GCC nationals in exploring Armenia, which offers a unique blend of historical sites, stunning landscapes, and rich cultural experiences.
Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Tourism Committee of Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, remarked, “This milestone reflects our commitment to making Armenia more accessible to regional travelers. We look forward to welcoming more guests from the GCC who seek meaningful travel experiences, from our ancient monasteries to our vibrant food scene and cultural festivals.”
Travel Made Easier
Previously, UAE residents faced the inconvenience of obtaining a visa on arrival to visit Armenia. The new visa-free entry simplifies this process, encouraging spontaneous travel for the large expatriate population in the UAE. Direct flights from airlines such as flydubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air further facilitate travel between the two regions.

A Part of a Broader Initiative
This visa reform aligns Armenia with other high-mobility countries, including those in the European Union, Schengen Area, and the United States, which already have visa-free agreements in place.
The initiative is expected to further stimulate collaboration between Armenia and GCC countries, supporting broader tourism and economic growth strategies.
