Dubai: Travel Time Reduced to 6 Minutes with Umm Suqeim Project

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a significant upgrade to Umm Suqeim Street that will reduce travel time between Jumeirah Street and Al Khail Road from 20 minutes to just six.
The project aims to enhance the road’s capacity to accommodate up to 16,000 vehicles per hour.

RTA Director-General Mattar Al Tayer confirmed that the improvement will boost connectivity across key transport corridors, including Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
The upgraded corridor will serve vital residential areas such as Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, and Al Barsha, benefiting over two million residents.
Key features of the project include pedestrian walkways, dedicated cycling tracks, and vibrant urban spaces.
The upgrade will involve six major intersections and the construction of four bridges and three tunnels, totaling 4,100 meters in length.
The project is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and enhance overall mobility in the region, making travel more efficient for residents and visitors alike.
