The holiday aligns with the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, which marks the beginning of the last month of the Islamic calendar.
Both public and private sector workers will benefit from this unified holiday policy, ensuring equal time off across the board.
Eid Al Adha, also known as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice,’ commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God, and is celebrated with prayers, charitable acts, and the traditional sacrifice of livestock. Official work will resume on Monday, June 9, 2025.
