UAE: How to Resolve Technical Violations After Dubai RTA’s 88 Fines for Heavy Trailers

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has issued 88 traffic fines to heavy trailer owners following a comprehensive inspection campaign that identified significant technical faults.
The violations included issues such as unroadworthy tyres, defective lighting, absence of reflective stickers, and improper loading, which posed risks to road safety.

The inspection campaign, conducted across six key locations in Dubai during the first quarter of 2025, involved 2,638 checks of heavy vehicles on major roads, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.
A total of 177 trailers were evaluated for compliance with safety standards.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the Licensing Agency at RTA, emphasized the authority’s commitment to enhancing road safety through regular inspections and awareness campaigns aimed at preventing violations and ensuring proper maintenance of heavy vehicles.
