RTA Launches Five New Bus Routes and Upgrades Nine in Dubai

DUBAI – The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to enhance Dubai’s public transport network by introducing five new bus routes and upgrading nine existing ones, effective August 29, 2025.

Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasized the authority’s commitment to expanding public bus services to align with Dubai’s population growth and urban development.

New Bus Routes

  1. Route 31: Connecting Dubai Outsource City and Dubai Silicon Oasis, with buses operating every 20 minutes during peak hours.
  2. Routes 62A and 62B: These routes split from the existing Route 62, with 62A running between Al Qusais Industrial Area and Al Qusais Metro Station, and 62B connecting Al Qusais Metro Station to Ras Al Khor – Samari Residences, operating every 30 minutes during peak hours.
  3. Route F26A: Linking Onpassive Bus Station to Al Quoz Industrial Area 4, with a 30-minute frequency during peak hours.
  4. Route X91: An express service running between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Jebel Ali Bus Station, bypassing Business Bay Metro Station.

Enhancements to Existing Routes

The RTA will also modify nine existing routes to improve efficiency:

  • Route 7: Now a two-directional service between Al Quoz Bus Station and Al Satwa Bus Station.
  • Route 91: Shortened to run between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Business Bay Metro Station.
  • Route F62: Converted to a two-directional service between Emirates Metro Station and Nad Al Hamar.
  • Route 77: Now two-directional between Baniyas Square Metro Station and Al Garhoud.
  • Route X25: Shortened to run between Al Karama Bus Station and Dubai Silicon Oasis.
  • Route 50: Will no longer serve Dubai Outsource City, with adjustments planned for International City in Phase Two.
  • Route 21A and 21B: Both routes shortened to operate between Al Quoz Bus Station and Al Ghubaiba Bus Station.
  • Route J01: Revised routing within Jumeirah Village Circle.

Shakri reiterated that the RTA aims to ensure greater integration of the bus network with the Dubai Metro, Tram, and marine transport systems, making public transport a more attractive option for residents.

With these changes, the RTA continues its commitment to enhancing public transport in Dubai, catering to the needs of its growing population.
