Saudi transport authorities have temporarily suspended motorbike delivery app services in Riyadh as of Tuesday. This suspension will remain in effect until further notice to facilitate technical updates.

- Authority: General Transport Authority (GTA)
- Reason: Scheduled technical updates to the electronic connection system for order assignment to motorcycle delivery personnel.
- Impact: Customers will be unable to use motorcycle delivery apps during this period.

The suspension aims to improve operational efficiency and enhance service quality within the delivery sector.
Resumption of Service
- The service will automatically resume once the technical updates are completed.
- Operating companies will be notified when the system is ready.
Growth of the Delivery Sector
The delivery sector has seen significant growth in Saudi Arabia, achieving over 290 million orders last year. Key figures include:
- Riyadh: Recorded a 45.3% growth in delivery activity.
- Mecca Region: Achieved a 22.7% growth.
- Eastern Province: Experienced a 15% growth.
In total, more than 200 million delivery operations were performed in the Kingdom in 2023, highlighting the sector’s rapid expansion.
