Driving during such conditions can be hazardous, as reduced visibility and sand drifts affect tyre grip. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) emphasizes the importance of safety and has outlined five essential rules for motorists:
- Check Headlights: Ensure all headlights are functioning properly before driving, as visibility can be severely compromised.
- Slow Down: Reduce speed and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to react appropriately to unexpected hazards.
- Avoid Distractions: Do not take pictures or videos while driving to maintain focus on the road.
- Do Not Use Hazard Lights: The Ministry of Interior advises against using hazard lights while driving in dusty conditions, urging motorists to stay in their lanes.
- Close Windows: If driving in dusty weather, close windows and turn on the air conditioning for safety.

These guidelines aim to enhance road safety for all drivers and pedestrians during challenging weather conditions.
