UAE: Major Road Development Plan for 2040

The new Master Plan outlines the development of road corridors aimed at serving 8 million residents by 2040.
In a groundbreaking initiative to transform urban mobility, authorities have introduced a comprehensive Master Plan for the expansion of 11 key road corridors, designed to accommodate a projected population of 8 million.

Key upgrades include:
- Umm Suqeim–Al Qudra Corridor: This project will feature 7,000 meters of bridges and tunnels, reducing travel time from 46 minutes to just 11 minutes.
- Hessa Street Upgrade: This enhancement will deliver 9,000 meters of bridges, cutting travel time from 30 minutes to 7 minutes.
- Al Fay Road Corridor: Capacity will be increased to accommodate 64,400 vehicles per hour, with plans for 12,900 meters of roads and 13,500 meters of bridges.
- Rapid Traffic Solutions on Sheikh Zayed Road: These initiatives are expected to reduce congestion by 5–10%.
These developments promise to significantly improve travel efficiency and connectivity in the region.
