Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has announced the allocation of sites for seven new mining complexes across the regions of Riyadh, Makkah, Asir, and Al-Baha. This initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency in the mining sector.

Designated Locations

Riyadh Region

• Tamir 2 Complex: Located in Al-Majma’ah, covering 1.99 sq km.
• Afif Site: Encompassing 10.38 sq km.
• Tayri Complex: Situated in Rumah, with an area of 37.88 sq km.
• Dawadmi 6: Spanning 30.62 sq km.

Makkah Region

• East Faydat Al-Musallam Complex: Located in Taif, covering 25 sq km.

• Al-Hadbah and Al-Qurain Complex: Expanded in Bisha to a total area of 72.78 sq km.

Al-Baha Region

• New Complex: Designated north of Wadi Al-Hijrah in Al-Hijrah governorate, covering 0.66 sq km.

Objectives and Benefits

• Enhanced Governance: The establishment of these mining complexes aims to improve governance across the sector and bolster investor confidence while preventing unauthorized encroachments on mining areas.
• Environmental and Safety Standards: The ministry emphasized that the initiative supports environmental, health, and safety standards and encourages local community participation in accordance with Saudi Arabia’s Mining Investment Law.

• Regional Development: The mining complexes are expected to stimulate regional development by:
