By integrating Visa’s Direct Alias Directory, QIB has become the first bank in Qatar to offer this secure, user-friendly solution, enabling smoother and faster fund transfers to select partner banks in the UAE and Bahrain.
Transfers That Feel Like Texting
Gone are the days of scrambling for IBANs or card numbers. With Visa+, QIB customers can send money through the QIB Mobile App by simply entering the recipient’s phone number—thanks to Visa’s alias-based transfer system.
At launch, Visa+ is compatible with leading GCC financial institutions including Emirates NBD in the UAE, as well as Bahrain Islamic Bank and Khaleeji Bank in Bahrain via BenefitPay. This early access lays the foundation for a broader regional network in the coming months.

“Visa+ reflects our vision of providing fast, secure, and intuitive financial solutions through our award-winning mobile app.”

“Visa+ is a transformative step for remittances. It makes cross-border money transfers more convenient and more secure, creating real impact not only for individual users but for communities and regional economies.”
This move aligns with QIB’s wider strategy to drive digital innovation and expand financial access across the region, especially as demand for instant, low-friction transactions continues to rise.
The Future of GCC Banking
With Visa+ now available on the QIB Mobile App, customers can expect a more streamlined and modern remittance experience—one that keeps pace with their fast-moving lives and business needs.
