How to Check Smart Gates Registration at DXB
Dubai International Airport (DXB) offers a seamless travel experience through its Smart Gates, enabling quick passage through passport control for registered users.
If you’re unsure whether you are registered to use this service, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA-Dubai) provides an online tool to verify your status.

To check your registration, visit the GDRFA-Dubai website at gdrfad.gov.ae. Here’s how to proceed:
- Navigate to the ‘Inquiry for Smart Gate Registration’ section on the homepage and click the red ‘Start Service’ button.
- Select one of the following options for verification:
- File Number (found on your visa sticker or e-visa)
- UDB Number or Emirates Unified Number
- Emirates ID number
- Passport Number (along with your nationality)
- Enter your date of birth and select your gender.
- Complete the captcha and click ‘Submit.’
If you are registered, the system will confirm your eligibility to use Smart Gates.
Eligible users include UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens, UAE residents, visa-on-arrival and Schengen Union guests, as well as holders of pre-issued visas.
To utilize Smart Gates, simply enter the designated area, follow the on-screen instructions, and verify your biometrics.
This service significantly reduces waiting times at passport control, making travel through Dubai more convenient.
