Hajj 2025: Saudi Arabia Announces Restricted Entry into Makkah

In preparation for the Hajj season, the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia has announced new regulations regarding entry into Makkah.

Key Dates and Requirements

For Umrah pilgrims, the last date to enter the Kingdom is April 13, 2025 (15 Shawwal 1446 AH), while the final date for departure is April 29, 2025 (1 Dhul-Qi’dah 1446 AH).

It is essential for those performing Umrah to obtain a visa and a permit through the Nusuk app, ensuring they utilize services from licensed operators.

Starting April 23, 2025 (25 Shawwal 1446 AH), entry into Makkah will require specific documentation, including a work permit, a valid resident ID issued from the capital, or a valid Haj permit.

Suspension of Umrah Permits

From April 29, 2025, until June 10, 2025 (14 Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH), the issuance of Umrah permits via the Nusuk platform will be suspended.

During this period, entry and stay in Makkah will be prohibited for all visa holders, with the exception of those holding a valid Haj visa.

These measures are designed to ensure smooth operations during Hajj and to maintain order within the holy city. Travelers are urged to comply with these regulations to avoid penalties.
