Major Saeed Al-Shabli, Deputy Director of the Digital Security Department, highlighted the tactics used by these scammers, including creating fake accounts and using the names of reputable companies to enhance credibility.
Victims are often pressured to act quickly, fearing they might miss out on lucrative opportunities.
These scams frequently request financial fees for services such as training or contract certification, and they may ask for sensitive personal information, putting individuals at risk of identity theft.
The Ministry is combating this issue through public awareness initiatives, including workshops aimed at helping job seekers identify legitimate job offers.
Cybersecurity experts emphasize the importance of verifying job offers thoroughly. Dr. Sarah Thompson advises job seekers to research potential employers and be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true.
Dr. Mark Jensen warns against sharing personal information without verification and stresses the need for due diligence.
The Ministry of Interior is collaborating with social media companies to remove fraudulent accounts and advertisements to protect the public from these scams.
Authorities urge job seekers to remain vigilant and to prioritize the security of their personal information when navigating job opportunities online.
