UAE-UK Travel: Visa Fees Set to Rise by Up to 10% Starting April

Residents in the UAE planning to travel to the United Kingdom will face higher visa costs starting April 9, 2025. The UK Government has announced a fee increase of approximately 10% across various visa categories.
For instance, the fee for a short-term visit visa, valid for up to six months, will rise from £115 to £127, an increase of £12. Similarly, the cost for a two-year visit visa will jump by £43 to £475, while the five-year visa will see a hike of £77 to £848.

The cost for a ten-year visa will also increase by £96, bringing the total to £1,059.
Emiratis traveling to the UK can apply for the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), which will also see a price increase from £10 to £16. The ETA allows multiple entries for stays of up to six months over a two-year period.
The UK remains a popular destination for UAE citizens and expatriates, especially during summer vacations, due to easier visa appointment access compared to Schengen countries.
Travel agencies note that UK visa appointments can often be secured within a week, attracting more travelers.
As the UK aims to increase its annual visitor numbers to 50 million by 2030, these new visa fees will also apply to travelers applying from other countries.
