A Streamlined Application Process

Gone are the days of visiting embassies or consulates to secure a visa. The new eVisa system simplifies the process significantly, making it convenient for travelers, especially those residing in the UAE.

With this global rollout, applicants can complete their visa applications from the comfort of their homes, minimizing paperwork and travel hassles.

Benefits of the eVisa System

  1. Convenience: Travelers can apply online without the need for in-person visits to the Royal Thai Embassy or the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai.
  2. Faster Processing: The online system promises efficient processing times, ensuring that travelers receive their approvals promptly.
  3. Versatility: The eVisa is designed for various types of visitors, including tourists and business travelers, catering to short-term stays.

How to Apply

From January 1, 2025, applicants can visit the official online visa portal at www.thaievisa.go.th to begin their application. Required documents include:

  • A scanned copy of the biodata page of a passport (valid for at least six months).
  • A recent passport-sized photograph.
  • Proof of residence or current location.
  • Travel booking confirmation.
  • Proof of accommodation in Thailand, such as hotel bookings or an invitation letter.

Additional documentation may be necessary depending on individual circumstances, including a UAE residence permit, bank statements, salary certificates, and a No-Objection Certificate from a sponsor if applicable.

Cost and Approval

The fee for a single-entry, 60-day eVisa is set at Dh400, as stated by the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Once the application is submitted and paid for, travelers will receive their eVisa electronically after approval.

A confirmation email will include the eVisa, which can be printed and presented to airlines and Thai immigration authorities upon arrival.

With the launch of the new global eVisa system, Thailand is making strides to enhance accessibility for international travelers.

This innovative approach not only simplifies the visa application process but also reflects Thailand’s commitment to welcoming visitors from around the globe.
