However, more than half of these individuals report that their job search has become more challenging over the past year.
Additionally, nearly half of HR professionals in these countries indicate that sourcing qualified talent is increasingly difficult, highlighting a shift in the job application landscape for 2025.
Despite the challenges, there is a sense of optimism among job seekers. Approximately 58% of professionals believe they can secure new roles in 2025, driven by expectations of an improving job market. Economic growth projections are robust, with the UAE’s non-oil sectors anticipated to grow by 4-5% and Saudi Arabia aiming for a 4.9% growth rate, largely fueled by diversification strategies.
Shifting Job Application Strategies
Many job seekers are applying to more positions in hopes of increasing their chances of landing a job. However, this approach may not be as effective, as 44% report applying to more jobs but receiving fewer responses. Furthermore, 48% feel it’s harder to get a reply from recruiters.
Hiring managers are also facing difficulties, with 29% of HR professionals spending 3-5 hours daily reviewing applications.
Alarmingly, 69% find that less than half of the applications meet job criteria. This situation has led many professionals to desire a more efficient way to assess job matches, as they often apply for positions without fully meeting the requirements.
