UAE Fines Two Dh600,000 for Illegally Employing 12 Workers

UAE Fines Two Dh600,000 for Illegally Employing 12 Workers

In a significant move to uphold labor laws and immigration regulations, a UAE court has levied fines totaling Dh600,000 on two individuals found guilty of employing 12 illegal workers.

This ruling underscores the government’s strict stance against residency law violations and its commitment to maintaining a regulated workforce.

The offenders were apprehended during a series of inspections conducted by federal immigration authorities in February.

These proactive measures are part of a broader initiative to ensure that businesses comply with the country’s labor and immigration laws, which are designed to protect both workers and employers.

Each of the 12 workers discovered to be in violation was fined Dh1,000 and faced immediate deportation. This not only serves as a deterrent to potential violators but also emphasizes the consequences of non-compliance in the UAE’s labor market.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) played a crucial role in this operation, conducting a total of 252 inspections throughout the month.

The scale of these efforts is notable, with 4,771 establishments scrutinized in the drive to combat illegal employment and protect the integrity of the UAE’s labor force.

This case is a reminder of the stringent regulations governing employment in the UAE, reflecting the nation’s commitment to ensuring a fair and lawful working environment.

As the UAE continues to grow as a global business hub, it remains vigilant in enforcing these laws to foster a safe and equitable labor market for all.
