About the role:

As Qatar Duty Free Assistant Spa Manager is to provide direct assistance to the Spa Manager in ensuring operational excellence. During the shift responsible for overseeing spa operations, ensuring guest satisfaction and coordinating team member responsibilities.


  • Help build a high-performing team that works together collaboratively, through skills development and training in accordance with the Spa Manager’s guidelines.
  • Ensure that the set-up of the spa area and facilities is correct at all times, and well presented. Maintain concise records of all spa items in order to ensure the facility is able to function seamlessly, and the guest experience is maintained.
  • Assist Spa Manager in all areas of spa operations, including inventory management, monitor key performance indicators and the prepare KPIs and spa revenue reports. Complete shift reports for the Spa Manager.

  • Supervise daily spa operations and ensure service standards are upheld. Exemplify excellent customer service and ensure excellent service is consistently delivered to all guests.
  • Monitor, respond to and action guest feedback as appropriate. Review all guests feedback in relation to assigned area, and if required, ensuring corrective measures are implemented, guests are contacted and follow up is provided. Further using this feedback, work towards continued growth in the overall guest satisfaction rating for the area by identifying areas potentially underperforming.
  • Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment. Comply with environmental, health and safety policies and procedure.
  • Assist in the management of staff scheduling. Assign daily tasks to team members, in accordance with Spa Manager’s guidelines.

  • Provide training to support individual and team performance, as requested by Spa Manager.
  • Assist in the updating of the spa’s Operating Procedures and Policies Manual, and ensure correct implementation of the spa’s operating procedures.
  • Supervise a team with diverse talents and responsibilities, supporting team members in their daily tasks and ensuring operations run smoothly.
  • In the absence of the Spa Manager, make decisions on matters involving the guest experience.
  • Perform same activities and tasks as team members, including treatments and services, retail sales and bookings, according to the needs that may arise.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications and Experience:

Without a Degree:

  • High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience


With a Degree:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience


  • Beauty/spa therapist qualification/ certification
  • Spa management experience in a luxury standard spa.


  • Business administration qualification an advantage  
  • Training experience is an advantage.
