1.9 Million Students Return to Schools in Makkah and Madinah

Makkah & Madinah: Around 1.9 million students across all levels of public education in the Makkah and Madinah regions returned to classrooms on Sunday, marking the start of the 1447 AH academic year as per the official Ministry of Education calendar.
Public schools in the other 11 regions of Saudi Arabia had resumed earlier on August 24, making Makkah and Madinah the last to begin.

By the Numbers
- Makkah: Over 500,000 students in 2,455 schools, guided by approximately 38,000 teachers.
- Jeddah Governorate: 714,273 students across 2,384 schools, supported by 41,000 teachers.
- Taif: 270,000 students enrolled in 1,700 schools.
- Madinah: 413,551 students returned to 1,829 schools, with 34,637 teachers overseeing their education.
