Dubai’s RTA Announces New Project to Alleviate Airport Traffic

This upgrade comes as passenger numbers at the airport continue to rise, exceeding 92 million in 2024. The expansion is expected to increase the bridge’s capacity from 4,200 to 5,600 vehicles per hour, a 33% increase, which will greatly shorten travel times during peak hours.

Mattar Al Tayer, RTA’s Director General, highlighted that the new bridge will be constructed using an innovative steel box girder system, ensuring minimal disruption to current traffic flow.

Additional enhancements will include road pavement improvements, upgrades to infrastructure services, and new street lighting for better visibility and safety.

This project underscores RTA’s commitment to enhancing Dubai’s transport infrastructure and improving the overall travel experience for airport users.
