To purchase a public transport pass, individuals must first obtain a Hafilat Smart Card, which can be either anonymous or personalized.

The anonymous card is easy to acquire, costing Dh10 and valid for 16 years, but lacks balance transfer options unless linked to an Emirates ID.

The personalized card, designed for seniors, people of determination, and students, offers subsidized rates and allows for balance transfer.

Public transport passes can be purchased at various locations, including:

  • Sales and recharge machines (TVM) found throughout the city
  • Customer Happiness Offices at bus stations and Zayed International Airport
  • Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society, Al Ain Cooperative Society, and all Lulu Hypermarket branches in the region

For seniors and people of determination, a monthly pass is available at a subsidized rate of Dh80, requiring a valid Emirates ID for application.

With these new options, getting around Abu Dhabi has never been more affordable and convenient.
