UAE Traffic Alerts: Road Diversions and Closures This Weekend

Drivers in the UAE are advised to plan their routes carefully this weekend due to multiple road closures and diversions in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain.
These changes are primarily due to ongoing infrastructure projects and metro expansion works.

Dubai Road Closures
- Al Barsha South: Entry and exit points from Umm Suqeim Street are closed until further notice. Alternative routes include Street 31, Dubai Science Complex Exit, Al Hadaeq Street, and Hessa Street.
- Al Qudra Road: A long-term traffic diversion for bridge construction has been in place since June 22, 2025. This includes the removal of the traffic signal at the intersection with Arabian Ranches and new signal-free U-turns.
- Dubai Harbour: Traffic diversions are ongoing at the intersection of King Salman Street and the road to Dubai Harbour for bridge construction. Main roads and left turns on King Salman Street are closed, with diversions set via Al Marsa Street.
- Academic City: 63rd Street is closed in both directions near the German International School, with alternative access provided.
- Mirdif: Closures near City Centre Mirdif include the roundabout at 5th and 8th Streets, with traffic rerouted accordingly.
Sharjah Road Closures
- Al Majaz 3: A section from Corniche Road to Al Intifada Road is closed until August 24, 2025, for infrastructure upgrades.
- Etihad Rail Construction: University Road and the Distributor Road towards Sharjah at Al Badi Bridge will be closed starting August 9 at 12:00 AM until August 11 at 11:00 AM.
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Closures
- Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street and Al Falah Street: Partial closures are in effect until August 11, 2025.
- Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street: Closed from August 9 to August 11, 2025.
- Hazza Bin Sultan Street: A temporary closure at the intersection with Nahyan The First Street until August 18, 2025.
- Sweihan Road (E20): Partial closure is scheduled on August 9 and 10, 2025, from 12:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Motorists are encouraged to check their routes and allow extra travel time to navigate these diversions.
