Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair scenic elements, props, puppets, and illusions for shows and events.
- Provide backstage support for daily performances and rehearsals.
- Conduct furniture repairs, cabinetry, and millwork tasks.
- Install doors, frames, panic hardware, and ceiling systems.
- Perform routine inspections and safety checks on equipment and areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate carpentry tools safely and responsibly.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to complete work accurately.
- Respond to emergency repair requests and assist with urgent maintenance.
- Collaborate with other trades for cross-functional tasks.
- Adhere to safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Diploma or Certificate in Carpentry preferred.
- Completion of a 4-year accredited apprenticeship program is an asset.
- Current journeyman carpenter’s certificate required; Red Seal certification is a plus.
- Valid EWP and fall protection certification advantageous.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of professional carpentry experience, preferably in theatrical or live entertainment settings.
- Hands-on experience in framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, and installation.
- Experience with formwork and stage construction is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and safe lifting techniques.
- Strong understanding of tool operation and maintenance.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Physically fit for manual labor tasks.
