Qatar Condemns Iranian Missile Attack on Al-Udeid Air Base, Affirms Right to Respond

The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the missile attack launched by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeting Al-Udeid Air Base, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the United Nations Charter.

Dr. Majed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a statement denouncing the strike as a “brazen aggression” and affirming that Qatar reserves the right to respond in a manner proportionate to the nature and scale of the attack, in accordance with international law.

Dr. Al Ansari confirmed that Qatar’s air defense systems successfully intercepted the Iranian missiles and that no casualties were reported, as the base had been evacuated in advance following established security and precautionary protocols. Personnel from the Qatari Armed Forces, allied forces, and other individuals were safeguarded without injury.

He added that a detailed statement outlining the circumstances of the attack will be released by the Ministry of Defense.

In his remarks, Dr. Al Ansari warned that continued military escalations threaten to destabilize the region and could lead to severe consequences for international peace and security. He reiterated Qatar’s call for an immediate halt to all military actions and a return to serious diplomatic negotiations.

Highlighting Qatar’s longstanding position, he stated, “The State of Qatar was among the first to warn of the dangers of Israeli escalation and has consistently advocated for peaceful solutions and regional de-escalation through dialogue and good-neighborly relations.”

Qatar reaffirmed that dialogue remains the only viable path to resolving current crises and securing lasting peace and stability in the region.
