Travel agents report an increasing number of cancellations, particularly for non-essential trips. Many travelers are prioritizing safety, choosing to postpone their plans rather than risk getting caught in a volatile situation.

Avinash Adnani, a partner at Neo Travel and Tourism, noted a marked shift in consumer behavior, with individuals wary of traveling to areas closer to the conflict.

Airspace closures in several countries, including Iran and Iraq, have compounded these concerns, making it difficult for travelers to reach their intended destinations.

Reena Philip, general manager of Air Travel Enterprises in Dubai, highlighted that airlines are offering free date changes as a response to the ongoing situation, allowing customers some flexibility amidst the uncertainty.

Experts predict that once the conflict subsides, airfares could surge due to pent-up demand. Subair Thekepurathvalappil, senior manager at Wisefox Tourism, emphasized that the shortage of available flights could lead to a 20% increase in ticket prices as travel resumes.

As the summer travel season approaches, many are hopeful that the situation will stabilize soon. However, for now, the priority for UAE residents remains clear: safety first.
