Supervised by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the initiatives are set to be completed by 2027 and will add 226 kilometers of new roads along with 115 bridges and tunnels.

These upgrades are part of a broader strategy to accommodate a projected population of 8 million by 2040.

Key projects include the Umm Suqeim—Al Qudra Corridor, which will cut travel time from 46 minutes to just 11 minutes, and the Hessa Street expansion, which aims to double road capacity and reduce travel time from 30 minutes to 7 minutes.

To further enhance traffic flow, Dubai has implemented smart technologies, including AI monitoring and drones, to expedite construction.

Additionally, cycling infrastructure is being expanded, with 557 kilometers of cycling tracks already completed.

These developments reflect Dubai’s commitment to improving urban mobility as part of its Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
