Penalties Imposed

  • Fine: SR150,000
  • Commercial Registration: Canceled
  • License: Revoked
  • Liquidation: Establishment’s activities to be liquidated
  • Zakat, Fees, and Taxes: To be collected
  • Ban on Commercial Activity: Defendants banned from engaging in any commercial activity.
  • Deportation: Bangladeshis to be deported and banned from returning to Saudi Arabia for work.

Investigation Findings

  • The Saudi woman assisted the Bangladeshis in engaging in commercial activity without a foreign investment license.
  • The Bangladeshis were allowed to work for their own account, generate revenue from the illegal activity, and transfer funds outside the Kingdom.
  • The Saudi woman purchased tankers through financing loans in her name to support the foreign residents in engaging in transportation activity.
  • The Bangladeshis used the facility as its owners, managing and operating it, and signing contracts and agreements.

Anti-Commercial Cover-up Law

  • Penalties: Up to five years in prison and a fine of up to SR5 million.
  • Confiscation: Confiscation and seizure of illicit funds after final court rulings.
