In a recent statement, the DMT reiterated that any printed or written materials placed in public areas without prior approval are prohibited.
The regulations are part of Law No. 2 of 2012, which seeks to enhance public safety and preserve the visual appeal of the capital.
Fines for violations are structured progressively: Dh1,000 for the first offense, Dh2,000 for a second, and Dh4,000 for third and subsequent offenses.
The DMT encourages individuals and businesses to seek official approvals before displaying any public notices to avoid these hefty penalties.
In addition to addressing unauthorized flyers, the DMT is conducting citywide inspections to ensure compliance with urban cleanliness standards. Residents are urged to report violations and help uphold the city’s image by keeping public spaces clean.
