“Yielding to emergency vehicles isn’t just a legal requirement; it’s a matter of road safety and, most importantly, saving lives,” the Ministry highlighted.

Drivers who fail to comply face significant penalties, including a Dh3,000 fine, a 30-day vehicle impoundment, and six traffic points.

This law applies to all road users, regardless of the direction from which the emergency vehicle approaches.

The violations were reported across various emirates, with the highest incidences in Dubai (160), Abu Dhabi (107), Ajman (31), Sharjah (17), Ras Al Khaimah (5), Umm Al Quwain (3), and Fujairah (2).

Authorities continue to stress the importance of keeping roadways clear to ensure emergency responders can reach those in need without delay.
