The activities aimed to foster a culture of environmental sustainability and civic responsibility. Volunteers participated in waste collection, sorting, and recycling, promoting sustainable practices and contributing to Dubai’s environmental goals.

Eng. Saeed Safar, Director of the Waste Operations Department at Dubai Municipality, emphasized the initiative’s role in enhancing community awareness and civic values.

He stated that it reflects the commitment of Dubai’s residents to maintain the city’s status as one of the cleanest and most livable places in the world.

In addition to waste management efforts, the initiative included 20 dedicated activities in Al Hadeer, with over 2,000 volunteers participating in environmental preservation campaigns.

Dubai Municipality supported these efforts by providing logistical equipment and oversight for clean-up operations in residential areas.

Originally launched in 2017, the ‘An Hour with the Cleaner’ initiative encourages year-round volunteer participation in cleaning campaigns across various public spaces, reinforcing Dubai’s image as a model city for sustainability and social cohesion.
