Visitors to Prophet’s Mosque Exceed 14 Million in First Half of Ramadan

As the holy month of Ramadan unfolds, the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah has witnessed an extraordinary influx of worshipers, with visitor numbers surpassing 14 million during the first half of the month.

This remarkable turnout highlights the mosque’s significance as a spiritual hub for millions seeking to deepen their faith and connection to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

According to the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, a total of 223,742 permits were issued for men and 155,630 for women to pray in the revered Rawdah Sharif.

The atmosphere within the mosque is one of unity and devotion, as over 1.2 million individuals took the time to greet the Prophet and his companions during this sacred period.

In addition to prayer, the mosque has become a center for community support, distributing more than 4.5 million iftar meals to worshipers breaking their fast.

The spiritual experience is complemented by the consumption of 3,650 tons of Zamzam water, with rigorous testing ensuring its quality.

The mosque’s commitment to cleanliness and safety is evident, with over 81,000 liters of disinfectants utilized to maintain hygiene.

Accessibility services have been a priority, with more than 250,000 visitors receiving wheelchair transport, and 50,000 chairs provided for elderly attendees.

Cultural and educational engagement is also thriving, as 18,000 visitors explored the mosque’s exhibits, while over 51,000 benefited from library services.

Scholarly lessons attracted around 84,000 attendees, reflecting the mosque’s role in fostering knowledge and spiritual growth.

The mosque’s guidance services have been vital, offering spatial orientation to nearly 48,000 visitors and religious guidance to 45,000 individuals.

Multilingual communication has enhanced the experience for 22,000 visitors, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and supported.

With a prayer hall occupancy rate of 93% and a staggering 95% parking occupancy, the mosque’s facilities are bustling with activity.

The dedicated efforts of 22,589 volunteers have been instrumental in assisting visitors, alongside the distribution of 600,000 gifts to enhance their experience.
