LIC Reveals Details for 2025 MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix

The Lusail International Circuit (LIC) has announced the schedule for the 2025 MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix, taking place from April 11-13. This event marks the fourth round of the MotoGP season.

The three-day event will feature multiple practice sessions across all classes, alongside various entertainment options suitable for all ages in a lively fan zone.

Since its inaugural race in 2004, LIC has distinguished itself as the first venue to host night racing in MotoGP since 2008. It remains the only circuit offering evening competitions on its 5.38 km track, which features 16 corners illuminated by LIC’s famous lights.

Schedule Highlights

Friday, April 11 will focus on free practice sessions. The schedule includes:

  • Moto3: 2:00 p.m. – 2:35 p.m. (35 minutes)
  • Moto2: 2:50 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (40 minutes)
  • MotoGP: 3:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (45 minutes)

In the evening, additional practice sessions will occur:

  • Moto3: 6:15 p.m. – 6:50 p.m. (35 minutes)
  • Moto2: 7:05 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. (40 minutes)
  • MotoGP: 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (60 minutes)

Saturday, April 12 will see riders competing for pole positions during qualifying, followed by a sprint race that covers half the distance of the main event on Sunday. The schedule includes:

  • Moto3: 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (30 minutes)
  • Moto2: 1:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. (30 minutes)
  • MotoGP: 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (30 minutes)

Qualifying sessions will include:

  • MotoGP:
    • Q1: 2:40 p.m. – 2:55 p.m.
    • Q2: 3:05 p.m. – 3:20 p.m.
  • Moto3:
    • Q1: 4:50 p.m. – 5:05 p.m.
    • Q2: 5:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Moto2:
    • Q1: 5:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • Q2: 6:10 p.m. – 6:25 p.m.

The day will conclude with the MotoGP sprint race at 7:00 p.m., covering 11 laps.

Sunday, April 13 will feature the main races, starting with warm-up sessions for all classes. The main race schedule includes:

  • Moto3: 5:00 p.m. (16 laps)
  • Moto2: 6:15 p.m. (18 laps)
  • MotoGP: 8:00 p.m. (21 laps), culminating in a thrilling finale.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the event start at QR 200, granting access to all three days of racing. Packages include seating in the main grandstand and general admission areas, including an elevated viewing section at Turn 1. Additionally, up to six children under 12 can attend for free with a paying adult, and university students can receive a 50% discount with a valid student ID.
