New Parking Monitoring Cameras Unveiled in Dubai

Dubai has introduced a cutting-edge parking monitoring system featuring advanced cameras and sensors. This fully automated technology aims to enhance parking efficiency and user convenience.
The system, currently operational in select areas, eliminates the need for tickets and lengthy waits, allowing motorists to simply drive in, park, and exit without hassle.

The new system was tested on the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, where paid parking has been enforced since 2022.
Unlike traditional parking managed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), this service is operated by the private company Parkonic.
Vehicles are detected upon arrival through sensors and cameras that read license plates, automatically recording the parking session and calculating fees.
The cost for parking in this area is set at AED 10 per hour, operational 24/7.
Payment options include online transactions via the Parkonic website, QR codes, and cash or credit card at on-site payment booths. Parkonic staff are available to assist motorists on-site.
In addition, Parkonic has recently implemented a similar barrier-free parking system at Dubai Harbour, integrating AI technology for seamless transactions.
This initiative represents a significant step towards modernizing parking solutions throughout the city.
