Dubai’s ‘Call to Prayer’ Initiative Receives Over 1,700 Applications

In an impressive display of community engagement, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has received over 1,700 applications for the second edition of the “Muezzin Al Freej” initiative.

Launched under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, this initiative is designed to identify and nurture young talents in delivering the adhan, or call to prayer.

To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, evaluation committees recently convened to refine the assessment criteria.

Dr. Abdullah Ibrahim Abdul Jabbar, Acting Director of the Maktoum Centres for the Quran and its Sciences, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the department’s mission to support and encourage young talents in the adhan field, reflecting the vision of Dubai’s wise leadership.
