As part of this initiative, Sheikh Mohamed will also cover all fines and penalties for the inmates, who had been sentenced for various offenses. This move follows last year’s release of 735 prisoners during the same period.

The amnesty extends beyond the federal level, with various emirate rulers also participating. In Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ordered the release of 1,518 prisoners, while Sharjah’s Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi announced the release of 707 inmates.

Additionally, Fujairah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah have collectively released hundreds more, all based on good conduct and eligibility for pardon.

This initiative aims to provide the released individuals a fresh start and bring joy to their families during this blessed month.
