The arrests occurred after a tip-off was received about individuals begging while selling prayer beads. Surveillance led to the immediate capture of three suspects, who then revealed their affiliation with a larger organized group.

All suspects were residing together in the hotel, where over AED 60,000 was confiscated.

As part of the ongoing “Combat Begging” campaign, which aims to promote awareness and uphold the UAE’s civil image, Dubai Police emphasized the importance of donating only through licensed charities.

They encourage the public to report any begging activities via their toll-free number 901 or the Dubai Police smart app.

The police reiterated their commitment to combatting begging, particularly during religious occasions, and have implemented intensified patrols and preventive measures to address this issue effectively.

All arrested suspects have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
