Over 6.5 Million Pilgrims Perform Umrah in 1Q of 2025

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah announced that over 6.5 million pilgrims performed Umrah during the first quarter of 2025, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period last year.

Forum Highlights

Al-Rabiah addressed the inaugural session of the second Umrah and Ziyarah Forum in Madinah, where he revealed that the number of renovated historical sites in Makkah and Madinah has now reached 55, enhancing the experience for pilgrims and visitors.

The forum was inaugurated by the Emir of Madinah, Prince Salman bin Sultan, and was organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in collaboration with the Doyof Al-Rahman Program at the King Salman International Conference Center.

Al-Rabiah stated that the daily capacity of the Rawdah Al-Sharif has been increased to over 52,000 visitors. He also highlighted that Makkah ranks 5th globally for the number of visitors.

Transportation Improvements

The minister noted a significant increase in the number of users of the Haramain High-Speed Train, which rose from 3.3 million passengers in 2022 to 8.8 million in 2024.

This reflects ongoing enhancements in transportation services for pilgrims and visitors.

Capacity and Participation

The forum saw participation from 330 Saudi Umrah companies and 8,000 Umrah agents from various countries.

Digital Transformation

Regarding the digital transformation of the Umrah journey, Al-Rabiah emphasized the significant improvements made in the Nusuk app, which now offers more than 100 services to over 18 million users.

This advancement aims to streamline the pilgrimage experience and enhance overall satisfaction.
