The fire occurred on Thursday evening in a support unit for the boiler of the sixth unit, as the facility was undergoing its annual maintenance.
Marafiq Company reported that the unit was out of service during the time of the fire. Fortunately, the fire was contained and controlled quickly, preventing further damage.
Despite the severity of the incident, the company assured that consumer services remained unaffected.
The company is currently collaborating with relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the fire and is conducting a comprehensive assessment of the damages incurred.
