Integrity is becoming increasingly common in Dubai. A delivery rider also returned Dh15,000 to Polish expatriate Kajetan Hubner after Hubner mistakenly overpaid for a delivery.
Having accidentally paid Dh17,000 for a service that cost only Dh1,750, Hubner was astonished when the rider contacted him to rectify the mistake. “I couldn’t believe that I got my money back. Since then, I have constantly stayed in touch with him; we are like brothers,” Hubner shared.
When the money was returned, Hubner attempted to give the rider Dh300 as a token of gratitude, but the rider declined, stating, “His true reward is with Allah, and it was his duty to return the money.” Hubner had to insist before the rider accepted any compensation.
