Duty Manager:

  • Located in the former Ministry of Interior building, The Ned Doha offers seven restaurants, 90 bedrooms, event venues, and Ned’s Club, a private members’ club that gives access to spaces including a rooftop terrace, a health club with spa, gym and 30m outdoor pool.
  • The Duty Manager will assist the Front Desk Manager in all aspects of the department including but not limited to operations, planning, staffing and payroll in accordance with hotel policies and procedures. The Duty Manager provides leadership and support to all members of the Front Office and enforces the Hotels Standards of Excellence in all areas supervised.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as Duty Manager in a luxury hotel, or a senior Front Office Supervisor
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in hotel management or relevant field will be a plus
  • In-depth understanding of essential hospitality standards and company policies
  • Excellent office and computer skills
  • Proficiency in English; multilingual is strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate team members and manage conflicts
  • Outstanding guest services skills, organizational, interpersonal, sophisticated verbal & written communication skills
  • Well developed, logical thinker with the ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly

  • Aptitude in resolving issues with a customer-focused orientation; solution-oriented mindset when addressing day-to-day issues
  • Effective communication skills and adaptable communication style for interacting with team members, upper management, and clients

As Duty Manager, working with us entails the following:

  • Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Front Office department making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set in the employee handbook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training and correcting where needed.
  • Direct and oversee all hotel operations to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
  • Conduct Briefing for all staff in the absence of the Front Desk Manager.
  • Could be assigned as Night Manager from time to time, and inform all Overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.
  • Check hotel rooms, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly, greet guests upon arrival and ensure escort to accommodations if appropriate.
  • Always maintain a professional and high-quality service-oriented environment.
  • In the absence of the Front Desk Manager, deal with complaints, problem solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise.
  • Manage the shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments.
  • Required to welcome guests to the hotel in a friendly and helpful manner, ensure that the public areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Work closely with the Housekeeping Department to improve guest services and foster cross departmental communication.
